What we collect
When you connect your QuickBooks Online company, BetterWayIQ reads: general ledger entries, chart of accounts, budget, vendors, vendor balances (A/P), and payroll runs. We also collect the email address you sign up with and basic usage telemetry (page views, error reports) used to improve the product.
What we don’t collect
- Donor names, addresses, email addresses, or individual donation amounts — QBO data is at the GL/account level, not the donor level
- Your QuickBooks password. We authenticate via OAuth 2.0; we never see your credentials
- Bank account numbers (we only see the last-four and institution)
- Customer credit card numbers
How we store it
Your financial data lives in a multi-tenant Supabase Postgres database with row-level security enforcing that every query must be scoped to your organization’s tenant. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM before they reach the database. See the security page for the technical detail.
Who we share it with
Nobody, without your written consent. We use Supabase (our database provider), Vercel (hosting for the web app), Railway (hosting for the sync workers), and Intuit (for the QuickBooks connection itself). Each of these processes your data only as needed to run the service.
How to revoke access
Disconnect QuickBooks from the Integrations settings page in your tenant dashboard, or from Intuit’s “Connected apps” page. Either path revokes our OAuth token with Intuit. To delete your BetterWayIQ data entirely, email hello@betterwayiq.com and we’ll purge within 14 days.
Contact
